Texas State Regulations
The state requires your completed CE hours are reported within seven days.

- All Cosmetology licensees who renew on or after September 1, 2008 must show the completion of at least 6 hours of continuing education.
- All Esthetician licensees who renew on or after September 1, 2008 must show the completion of at least 6 hours of continuing education.
- All Nail Tech licensees who renew on or after September 1, 2008 must show the completion of at least 6 hours of continuing education.
- Licensee must obtain a Certificate of Completion for each class completed.
- Texas: Sanitation (2hr); Texas: Laws and Rules (2hr).
- For late renewal, the continuing education courses must have been completed within the two year period immediately prior to the date of renewal.

**Licensees may not receive continuing education credit for attending the same course more than once for one renewal period. Further, licensees must retain a copy of the certificate of completion for a course for two year after the date of completion. In conducting any inspection or investigation of the licensee, the Department may examine the licensee's records to determine compliance.
