Licenses expiring January 31, 2009:

If this is your first Ohio license, you are not required to take continuing education for this next license renewal cycle. For licensees who must receive continuing education to renew their licenses, classes can be earned between now and January 31, 2009.

Several important instructions regarding CE include: When taking a course, licensees are required to list their name and cosmetology identification number (e.g. COSM.991234) on the sign-in sheet obtained from the course provider. At the completion of the course, the licensees should receive a certificate which indicates the date and course number for the class, the number of hours given, and must be signed by the course provider or instructor. This certificate should then be retained in a safe and accessible place in order to provide to the Board when requested. If you now hold an active Ohio license, you will need only eight (8) hours of continuing education. Please remember that you may only report those hours earned between February 01, 2007 through January 31, 2009. Under no circumstances are you allowed to report the same CE numbers more than once (ref: OAC 4713-21-03).
